Careers at Helicopter Transport Services: We promoteour own.
We hire pilots, apprentices and licensed engineers for full-time, contract and seasonal work across North America. The only way into our Black Hawk is to already be flying with us.
Opportunities should be open to any pilot with the skills to complete the mission, not only to those who know the right people.
We have invested in programs that upgrade pilots to larger and multi-engine aircraft, build lower-time pilots' experience, and sharpen the skills of the pilots we already have. The result is room to advance where there has been little or none for decades.
- Hiring apprentices, licensed engineers and qualified pilots
- Full-time or contract positions across North America
- Seasonal positions can become permanent for the right people
- Pay set by experience
The flight path
A clear climb from your first PPC to the Black Hawk. Each step is a real program at HTS, and each one opens the next.
01Start here

Bell 206
Early-career pilots get a PPC on the Bell 206 and real flying from day one, on jobs we bid so you build safe, meaningful time. You learn slinging, long-lining, bucketing and hover deplaning.
Full-time, based in Carp, ON or La Ronge, SK
02Year two

Bell 407
In your second year we move you up to the 407 and the wider range of work it opens. Between flights you work on ops gear and in the hangar alongside the engineers.
Second season with HTS
03Medium aircraft

Bell 205
We provide the type endorsement and the operational training, and you fly mediums in the same season, on forestry and other specialised work, without the long wait.
1,000 h PIC and external load experience
04Multi-engine

Bell 212
We upgrade our own 205 pilots to the twin-engine 212 in as little as one season. Experienced single-engine pilots and pilots from other twins can apply directly.
From our 205 line, or twin experience
05Promoted from within

Black Hawk
With enough time on the 212 you are eligible for the SK70/UH-60 Black Hawk: fires, precision lifts up to 8,000 lb and everything this platform can do.
Only open to HTS pilots

- 01Train on our rig. Assemble and move drills in a controlled setting at our custom training facility at the head office in Carp, Ontario.
- 02Shadow in the field. Fly with an experienced drill pilot and learn the specifics of the job.
- 03Move drills on your own. Once you are ready, the drill moves are yours.
